Sod installation is a quick and effective way to achieve a lush, green lawn almost instantly.
How we install our Sod:
1. Preparation: Remove any debris, rocks, or old vegetation from the area where you'll lay the sod. Ensure the soil is level and properly graded to allow for good drainage.
2. Measure and Order Sod: We measure the area to determine how much sod you'll need and order fresh sod from a reputable supplier, ensuring it's delivered on the day of installation for optimal freshness.
3. Water the Soil: Before laying the sod, we thoroughly water the prepared soil to ensure it's moist but not waterlogged. This will help the sod establish roots quickly after installation.
4. Laying the Sod: Begin laying the sod along a straight edge, such as a driveway or sidewalk, to create a neat boundary. Stagger the seams like bricks for stability, avoiding any gaps between pieces.
5. Compact Sod: After laying the sod, we gently compact it with a lawn roller to ensure good soil-to-sod contact. This helps the sod establish roots more effectively.
6. Water Thoroughly: Once all the sod is laid, we water it thoroughly to help settle the soil and encourage root growth. Water deeply penetrates the soil beneath the sod.
7. **Maintenance:** Keeping the newly laid sod consistently moist for the first few weeks, watering it daily or as needed to prevent it from drying out is paramount. Avoid heavy foot traffic until the sod has fully rooted, typically within 2-3 weeks.
8. **Regular Care:**
After the sod has been established, transition to a regular watering and maintenance schedule to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Follow best practices for lawn care, including mowing, fertilizing, and weed control as needed.
